The Heights

When you visit Hood River County, you’ll notice a few things right away: the beautiful views of the Columbia River Gorge, Mt Adams, and Mt. Hood; our quaint downtown; the picturesque orchards along the Fruit Loop. Another surprise awaits you in the wonderful area of town called the Heights. A thriving business district just south of downtown Hood River, the Heights offers grocery stores, a pharmacy, restaurants, florists, furniture stores, gardening supplies, and many other services. Our friendly Heights businesses are happy to serve your needs as well as share local insights about the valley as a whole. You’ll want to be sure to include a trip to the Heights in your visit to beautiful Hood River County.

Events in the Heights:

July 4th – Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks Celebrate Independence Day with and old-fashioned parade—classic cars, themed floats, marching bands, costumed bicyclers, and musical acts—followed by a BBQ festival at Jackson Park, live music, and games. The day ends with fireworks over the Columbia River.
